A recent two-day meeting in Doha, Qatar, saw over 40 Arab and Islamic countries condemning Israel’s attacks on Qatar. During this summit, Egypt proposed the formation of an Arab-Islamic military alliance, akin to NATO. Pakistan, the only Muslim-majority country with nuclear weapons, expressed its support for the idea, citing that 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide desire such an alliance.
The establishment of this coalition could pose a significant challenge for India. Analysts suggest that if the alliance materializes, Pakistan might intensify its anti-India activities, leveraging this new alliance to gain regional influence .
The prospect of a united military bloc comprising Arab and Islamic nations could shift geopolitical dynamics , potentially isolating India in some global forums and increasing tensions in the South Asian region. India’s strategic positioning would require recalibration to address these emerging threats.
