Mir Yar Baloch, a senior Baloch leader and human rights activist, has issued a strong warning about China’s growing role in Balochistan. He claimed Chinese troops could enter the region within the next few months.
In a letter to India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, he spoke about long-standing repression under Pakistan’s control. According to him, Balochistan has faced violence, enforced disappearances, and serious rights violations for decades.
Earlier, Baloch nationalist leaders declared independence from Pakistan in May 2025. Following this move, Mir Baloch announced the “2026 Balochistan Global Diplomatic Week,” planned for early 2026. Through this effort, Balochistan aims to engage directly with countries across the world.
Meanwhile, in his New Year message, he praised India’s Operation Sindoor in 2025. He said the operation targeted Pakistan-backed terror camps after the April 22 Pahalgam attack. In his view, the action showed India’s firm stand on security and justice.
Additionally, Mir Baloch extended New Year greetings to the people of India. He highlighted historic cultural ties, including the Hinglaj Mata Temple in Balochistan.
However, he expressed deep concern over the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He warned that a Chinese military presence without public consent could destabilize the region.
China and Pakistan have rejected such claims. Still, India continues to oppose CPEC due to sovereignty concerns.
