Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh toured flood-hit villages in Gurdaspur, including Narhawali, Kalanor, Machrala, Pakhoke, and Dera Baba Nanak. MLA Gurdeep Singh Randhawa joined him during the visit. The Minister met families in relief camps and promised full government support.
He distributed relief kits and said the government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is working day and night for victims. Health teams are stationed in affected areas to provide treatment. Special medical camps are active, and staff are taking steps to stop Dengue, Malaria, and Diarrhoea. Drinking water is being tested, and chlorination is in progress.
Dr. Balbir Singh announced personal aid of ₹1 lakh each for one farmer family and one labourer family. He also pledged his one-month salary for relief work. He appealed to NRIs and social organizations to support the efforts.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Jaswinder Singh said 38 mobile medical teams, 24 ambulances, and several rapid response units are working in Gurdaspur. Free medicines, safe water, and emergency care are being provided daily. The Minister assured villagers that the government will stand by them until normal life is restored.
