Dubai Fixes Pothole in Hours After Complaint, Internet Applauds

Indian entrepreneur praises Dubai as RTA repairs pothole-filled road within hours after complaint.

An Indian entrepreneur living in Dubai has taken the internet by storm after sharing a video that showcased the city’s impressive efficiency. In the clip, Reshabh Nagpal praised the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for repairing a pothole-ridden road near his residence in just a few hours after a complaint was filed.

Nagpal’s Instagram video begins around 12:30 p.m., showing several potholes on a busy street as vehicles carefully maneuvered around them. He explained that one of his friends had reported the issue to the authorities earlier that day. “This is why people love Dubai,” he remarked, highlighting how quickly officials responded. He also noted that workers were already on-site directing traffic and coordinating the repair work.

Within an hour, significant progress was visible. By 1:30 p.m., the damaged road had been filled with gravel and leveled using a road roller. “At this rate, it’ll be done in another one or two hours,” Nagpal said in the video. True to his prediction, by 2:00 p.m., the stretch was completely repaired and even freshly painted.

By late afternoon, all barricades were removed, and traffic was flowing smoothly again. “Usually, this kind of roadwork takes weeks, but in Dubai, it’s completed within hours,” Nagpal said, clearly impressed by the city’s efficiency.

The video quickly went viral, with social media users applauding Dubai’s quick response and accountability. Many pointed out that such efficiency should serve as an example for other countries. One user commented, “There’s a penalty clause for delays in Dubai—something other nations should adopt.” Another wrote, “We have so much to learn from systems that actually listen to citizen complaints.”
