India’s MP PP Chaudhary strongly rebutted Pakistan’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir at the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee on October 8. He asserted that the Union Territory remains “an integral and inalienable part of India.”
Chaudhary called Pakistan’s statements baseless, accusing Islamabad of misusing UN platforms to distract from its own issues, such as rigged elections, jailing opposition leaders, and suppressing protests. He even cited Pakistan’s Army Chief, who recently described the country as a “dump truck,” highlighting deep governance failures.
Focusing on India’s progress, Chaudhary shared that over 250 million people have risen out of multidimensional poverty in the past decade. Nearly 800 million citizens benefit from the Public Distribution System, and social security reaches more than 60% of the population.
Women’s empowerment has become a national mission. The MP highlighted the Women’s Reservation Bill (2023), record female enrolment in higher education, and women’s workforce participation rising to 40.3% in 2024-25.
He also spotlighted youth and tech initiatives like MY Bharat, Skill India, PM-NAPS, and YUVAi AI skilling. Digital tools, such as Direct Benefit Transfers and UPI, have transformed governance. The Meri Panchayat App, helping over 2,65,000 village councils, recently won the WSIS 2025 Champion award.
Chaudhary concluded by reaffirming India’s goal to build a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047 under PM Modi, promising to be a trusted partner of the Global South and UN.
