LPS 2.0 Launched in Fourth Village for Amaravati Capital; Farmers Offer 354 Acres
LPS 2.0 was formally launched on Sunday at the fourth village identified for land pooling under the Amaravati capital city development programme, marking another step forward in the State government’s renewed efforts to build the capital. Within hours of the commencement, 65 farmers gave their consent to pool 354 acres of land, indicating strong initial participation and confidence in the revised Land Pooling Scheme, officials said.
Revenue and Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) officials explained the features of LPS 2.0 to landowners, including compensation packages, returnable developed plots, annuity benefits, and infrastructure commitments. Special counters were set up to facilitate smooth registration of consent forms and to clarify doubts raised by farmers.
Officials expressed optimism that participation would increase in the coming days, as awareness spreads to neighbouring villages. The government aims to complete land pooling in the remaining notified villages at the earliest to accelerate infrastructure works and planned development in Amaravati, which is envisioned as a world-class capital city.
