India reaffirmed their supremacy in the sport as the women’s kabaddi team defeated Chinese Taipei 35–28 in Dhaka to lift their second consecutive Women’s Kabaddi World Cup title. The victory capped off a flawless campaign, but it was captain Ritu Negi’s celebratory walk — inspired by Rohit Sharma’s iconic Ric Flair–style strut during India’s 2024 T20 World Cup win — that lit up the moment.

With the trophy held close, Ritu slow-walked towards her teammates, soaking in the applause before lifting the cup high as the squad erupted in joy. The celebration, already spreading across social media, is being hailed as a defining moment in women’s kabaddi.

India looked dominant throughout the tournament, sweeping the group stage before overpowering Iran 33–21 in the semi-final. Although Chinese Taipei entered the final unbeaten, India’s relentless raiding, sharp defending and superior fitness proved decisive.

Captain Ritu Negi controlled the tempo with calm authority, while vice-captain Pushpa Rana delivered fearless raids and rock-solid defence. Key contributions from Champa Thakur, Bhawna Thakur and Sakshi Sharma ensured India maintained control from start to finish.

With back-to-back titles, India continue to set the global benchmark in women’s kabaddi — both in performance and unforgettable celebrations.
