Congress will lead the Grand Alliance campaign in the upcoming Bihar elections. At a press meet in Patna, Congress General Secretary Nasir Hussain confirmed that the party will include its issues in the alliance manifesto. He stressed that Congress will push for more reservations for backward classes, a policy already applied in Karnataka and Telangana.
This move has sent a strong signal to Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD. While RJD and VIP are projecting Tejashwi as the CM face, Congress has avoided making any announcement. Party leaders said their main focus is preventing vote theft, not naming a chief ministerial candidate right now.
Seat-sharing also remains a big issue. Congress has submitted a list of 76 seats to RJD. If talks get delayed, it may independently campaign on 30 seats. With elections expected to be announced next month, these decisions are likely to shape the alliance’s unity.
The Congress to lead Grand Alliance campaign in Bihar elections shows its intent to play a bigger role in state politics. The suspense over Tejashwi’s CM face adds more political heat.
