The 54-year-old actor, known for his early-morning routine and strict gym schedule, told Extra that discipline has allowed him to achieve both personal and professional milestones. He encouraged everyone to adopt it for success.
Wahlberg recently starred in the action-packed heist thriller Play Dirty, directed by Shane Black. He described the project as exciting and praised the film’s witty dialogue, plot twists, and innovative heist plan. He also enjoyed working with Shane Black, who added humor to the story.
Reflecting on his earlier career, Wahlberg expressed interest in revisiting his 1996 thriller Fear, noting that life experience with his daughters would bring a new perspective to the role of the father. He also admitted feeling nervous about Boogie Nights in 1997, fearing that it might be controversial because of his Calvin Klein modeling background.
The actor, who initially rose to fame with the hip-hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, described how meeting director Paul Thomas Anderson convinced him to take the Boogie Nights role. Reading part of the script and discussing it with Anderson helped Wahlberg understand the project’s value, leading to one of the breakthrough performances in his career.
