Bihar Election 2025 has taken a sharp turn after Tejashwi Yadav’s recent Waqf Act statement in Kishanganj. He said, “If we get the chance, we will tear up the Waqf Board law.” This remark created huge debate in Bihar politics. The NDA camp accused him of trying to divide voters, while others saw it as a smart political move.
Tejashwi seems to be fighting on two fronts — stopping the rise of Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM in Seemanchal and keeping Muslim voters united with the RJD. His strong words appear aimed at consolidating Muslim votes and re-energizing silent sections of voters before the election. The RJD has long depended on the Yadav-Muslim equation, but Muslim leaders often complain of unequal representation.
Owaisi’s growing presence in Seemanchal has made RJD nervous. Even a small shift of 5-10% Muslim votes could change seat outcomes. Hence, Tejashwi’s Waqf Act statement looks like a political signal to regain lost ground. However, analysts feel such emotional remarks bring short-term excitement but may not have long-term impact.
