Jubilee Hills Voters Yearn for Solutions to Long-Standing Woes

Jubilee Hills by-election sees intense campaigning as voters highlight poor civic conditions and AIMIM backs Congress.

With the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election set for November 11, political activity has intensified across the upscale Hyderabad constituency. Residents are seizing the opportunity to raise grievances and highlight civic issues before the candidates — Naveen Yadav (Congress), Sunita Gopinath (BRS), and Deepak Reddy (BJP).

During corner meetings, locals from Erragadda and Shaikpet expressed dissatisfaction over poor infrastructure, damaged roads, sewage overflow, and frequent flooding. Residents complained that despite being a prime area, several colonies remain neglected while nearby localities enjoy better development.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy led BJP’s door-to-door campaign in Rahmathnagar and Om Nagar, urging voters to support Deepak Reddy. The Congress, supported by AIMIM, deployed Mohammad Azharuddin and Shabbir Ali to reach Muslim-dominated areas. Meanwhile, BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and Mohammed Saleem hit the ground to rally for Sunita Gopinath. AIMIM’s support for Congress is being viewed as a key game changer.

Ahead of polling, the Jubilee Hills Constituency Colonies Forum — representing over 300 colonies — announced plans to collectively decide their preferred candidate. President Mohammed Asif Hussain Sohail said the forum will prioritize community welfare, performance, and transparency in leadership.
