Karnataka Commercial Taxes Dept. Uncovers ₹100 Crore Suppressed Turnover
The Karnataka State Commercial Taxes Department has uncovered a suppressed turnover of ₹100 crore during a massive tax enforcement drive, officials said on November 28, 2025. The operation, conducted across multiple sectors and businesses in Bengaluru and surrounding areas, aimed to identify cases of tax evasion and ensure compliance with GST and other state tax regulations.
Authorities reported that several businesses were found to have deliberately underreported their sales and income to evade taxes. Detailed scrutiny of financial records, invoices, and digital transactions helped the department detect discrepancies amounting to ₹100 crore in concealed turnover.
The department has initiated proceedings to recover the evaded taxes along with applicable penalties. Officials emphasized that such enforcement drives are part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency, strengthen revenue collection, and deter tax evasion. Businesses have been urged to maintain accurate records and comply with statutory obligations to avoid punitive action.
