Konark Dance Festival begins today with a vibrant celebration of Odisha’s culture and art. The annual event brings classical dance, sand art, and festive energy to Chandrabhaga Beach. This year marks the 36th Konark Festival and the 15th International Sand Art Festival. Both events will run until December 5. The new Subhadra Shakti Mela also joins the celebrations, adding more colour to the venue. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida will inaugurate the open-air stage today. Final preparations are complete, and officials confirm that everything is ready for the grand opening.
Artists from across India will perform Odissi every evening during the five-day Konark Festival. The stage stands against the majestic Sun Temple, creating a breathtaking backdrop for the performances. Renowned troupes will showcase Odisha’s classical dance heritage, attracting art lovers from around the country.
