The Patna–Bhojpur–Sasaram fourlane project will begin construction in September, bringing a major boost to road connectivity in Bihar. The National Highways Authority of India has signed an agreement with an Oman-based construction company for the project. Officials expect the Patna–Bhojpur–Sasaram fourlane project work to start after the agency completes its loan process with banks in about four months.
The highway will stretch about 120 km from Patna through Bhojpur to Sasaram. Once completed, the road will cut travel time between Patna and Sasaram from around four hours to nearly two hours. This improvement will help commuters save both time and fuel.
Authorities will build the road in two phases. The first phase will cover a 46-km stretch from Patna to Bhojpur. The second phase will add a 74-km section from Ara to Sasaram.
The new corridor will improve connectivity for districts like Patna, Bhojpur, Arwal, and Rohtas. It will also connect several national and state highways, making travel easier across the Shahabad region.
