Telangana heatwave conditions have become severe as temperatures crossed 46°C in several districts. Telangana heatwave fears increased after 22 people reportedly died from heatstroke across the state in a single day on Thursday.
Officials said Peddapalli and Suryapet recorded the highest temperature of 46.5°C. The extreme heat has forced many people to stay indoors during afternoon hours. Roads and public places looked deserted as residents avoided the scorching sun.
The weather department warned that severe heatwave conditions may continue in many districts, especially in north and east Telangana. Doctors advised elderly people, children, and pregnant women to avoid going outside between 11 am and 4 pm.
Health experts also suggested drinking enough water, buttermilk, coconut water, and ORS to prevent dehydration. People stepping outside should use umbrellas or cover their heads with cloth to reduce heat exposure.
Authorities urged citizens to stay alert as Telangana heatwave conditions may continue for the next few days.
