Indian-American Congressman Suhas Subramanyam has denounced the recent attacks on Hindu temples across the United States. He warned that these “hateful” incidents are not isolated but part of a growing wave of violence against religious places.
Speaking in the House of Representatives, Subramanyam said hate has no place in American society. He condemned the attacks on temples, mentioning the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Indiana and the Shri Shri Radha Krishna Temple in Utah. He stressed that violence of this kind affects all faith communities, not just Hindus.
Subramanyam explained that sacred places have become targets of hate, vandalism, and desecration. He emphasized that every American deserves the freedom to practice religion safely and without fear.
He urged lawmakers to allocate more resources for temple and worship-site security. “We must act now to stop the rise of hate in this country and protect our communities,” he said. Subramanyam promised to work with colleagues from both parties to ensure stronger protections.
His remarks highlight the urgent need to address religious intolerance in the US and to strengthen unity against hate crimes targeting faith-based spaces.
