The BSCC Scheme Crisis has raised serious concerns in Bihar after thousands of students failed to receive education loans despite approval. Under the Bihar Student Credit Card (BSCC) scheme, more than 97,000 students received loan approvals for the 2025–26 academic session, but only about 46,000 students actually received the money.
The BSCC Scheme Crisis has left over 51,000 students waiting for their funds. Many students and parents fear that the delay may affect college admissions and ongoing studies.
Officials say the delay happened due to limited fund allocation and slow document verification. Applications first go through verification at District Registration and Counseling Centres (DRCC). After that, colleges complete a third-party verification process before the loan amount is released.
Patna has the highest number of pending cases, with more than 3,500 students still waiting for their loan amount. Several other districts, including Muzaffarpur and East Champaran, also reported a large number of pending applications.
The Bihar government introduced the scheme to help students pursue higher education by providing financial support through easy education loans.
