A major road accident occurred early Saturday on the Kota–Jhalawar National Highway in Rajasthan.
A passenger bus travelling from Nagaur to Bhopal overturned near the Alaniya Bypass on NH-52.
The Rathore Travels bus was carrying over 35 passengers at the time of the accident.
Most passengers were asleep when the bus suddenly lost balance and toppled.
The incident triggered panic and loud screams at the accident site.
Police received information and reached the spot within minutes.
Ranpur police constable Kuldeep Chaudhary and driver Prithviraj arrived with a 112 emergency vehicle.
Despite dense fog and darkness, the police acted swiftly.
They broke the bus windows and safely pulled out trapped passengers and their belongings.
Around six passengers sustained injuries in the accident.
Ambulances shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Doctors said their condition remains stable.
Passengers accused the driver of speeding despite poor visibility due to fog.
However, the driver told police that a cow suddenly appeared on the road.
He claimed the bus overturned while trying to avoid hitting the animal.
Mandana and Ranpur police have started a detailed investigation.
The accident caused temporary traffic congestion on the highway.
Police cleared the road using a crane.
Authorities arranged an alternative bus to send passengers safely to Bhopal.
