PRTC PUNBUS Buses Strike disrupted public transport across Punjab on Tuesday as employees stopped bus services for two hours. Due to the PRTC PUNBUS Buses Strike, PRTC and PUNBUS buses remained off the roads from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, causing inconvenience to commuters.
Employees observed the strike to highlight long-pending demands linked to service conditions and administrative issues. Union leaders said workers chose a limited protest to draw attention without causing prolonged disruption. They confirmed that buses would resume operations after noon.
The sudden halt in services forced passengers to rely on private vehicles, auto-rickshaws, and taxis. As a result, traffic pressure increased on major roads in cities and towns. Many office-goers and students faced delays during peak hours.
PRTC and PUNBUS play a vital role in Punjab’s daily transport network. Thousands depend on these buses for affordable travel, especially in rural areas. Even a short strike impacts connectivity and routine movement.
Transport officials urged passengers to adjust travel plans and avoid unnecessary movement during the protest window. Authorities continued to monitor the situation and encouraged dialogue between employees and the government.
Bus services resumed normally after 12:00 PM.
